Its a Noodle Rod. They come in slow action, medium action, and fast action. The stiffness of the rod determines how fast the hook will set and how much of the rod will bend. The slower the Action the lighter the line can be for fighting large fish. The trade off with using a slow-action rod is that you sacrifice hook-setting speed; however, its perfect for freshwater fishing where huge salmon are found. This particular rod is a Lamiglas rod made in Southern Washington.
